Sébastien CASTILLO, Photographer, France

It was in 1970 that the story began.

In flat Orleans country. In the darkness of the paternal laboratory was born this future passion for photography. It continues according to successive residences, from the mountains of the central massif to the Alps. Currently it is stopping at the foot of the Vercors, in a region from which all directions are visible and possible, which encourages both leaving and staying. Driven by music as much as by painting or photography, I never really knew how to choose, so much so that each of these means of expression bears the mark of the others.

The passion for wide open spaces is a common thread for all the work presented here, but the man is not forgotten, even reduced to the state of a ghost, he is omnipresent in the photographic process. Man within his environment, for better and for worse. Painting from the Far East supports the expression as much as my passion for jazz or the work of Bach. David Lynch or James Joyce are not for nothing in the construction of certain series.

The thread is still being woven. We'll see.

Sébastien Castillo transports us into a dream that he was able to translate with rhythm, dynamism and originality.
As with most of his creations, the artist mixed between three and seven different shots. Sébastien Castillo is not afraid to saturate his works and to achieve improbable mixtures until obtaining an original and surprising work. For this, he mixes different styles, places and eras.
The artist, thanks to this photographic work, gives us a different vision of the urban landscape. His art shows us that there are many ways to see the world and marvel at each element that surrounds us.
