Born into a family that has always been involved in the artistic field. Colored pencils, pastels, charcoal and ink have always been part of his environment since his early childhood. As pets have been present from birth, she has always had a passion and respect for them.
However, it was not until the mid-1990s that she discovered a talent for painting. Although she began her career as an autodidact, she soon took a few lessons in order to acquire new knowledge of techniques and compositions. She was mainly guided by the painter Juan Cristobal.
Pastel and oil allow him to offer on these canvases an explosion of colors marked by softness, calm and serenity. His interest and commitment to painting crystallized mainly as a naturalist painter.
Since the end of 2000, she has devoted most of her time to art, distributing her works on a regular basis. Winner of several awards, favorite of the public on several occasions, as well as acclaimed by her peers, from honorable mention to first prize. The city of Sainte-Julie, through its heritage fund, has acquired a work by Danie Gagnon. In addition, she was awarded the first provincial prize for the donor work of Ducks Unlimited 2008.
She takes care to go straight to nature to gather her inspiration and every anatomical detail, which she captures on the spot through photography and sketches, before immortalizing them on canvas, in a composition created by the magic of the moment. passed to the observation, and this, moved by an emotion sometimes more human than animal.
It is therefore a tribute and a call for respect for all these animals that fascinate and intrigue her. Fossilized through the pigment on the work, they materialize through painting in our collective memory as a precious heritage.
